High Performance Glazing Systems

PRESENTER: Gregg White - Founder and Principal of AluSpec Inc.

PRESENTATION: High performance glazing systems and making the choice between aluminum storefront, curtain wall and pre-glazed windows. Presentation will focus on issues related to performance characteristics, appropriate applications, design limitations and costs associated to each product group.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  1. Identify and recognize the attributes and features of high performance windows as defined by national standards including energy and thermal performance.
  2. Assess the strengths and limitations of common storefront window systems in meeting high performance criteria.
  3. Investigate and compare the differences between storefront systems and curtain wall window systems related to performance criteria.
  4. Explore the types of applications where pre-glazed windows may be the preferred choice for optimum performance in non-residential buildings.

The cost for doing a tabletop presentation is $50.00 for chapter members, and $75.00 for non-members. Your fee includes a table set up for you to display your products, and a chance to do a brief (10 minute max.) introduction for yourself and your products.

Chapter Meeting

The Madison Chapter meets the second Tuesday of each month except for July and August.

The Madison Chapter likes to meet and eat at the Bourbon Street Grille, which is just off the South Beltline between Monona Drive and Southtown Drive.
